Monogrammed Brick Stories

Donald James

Submitted by Forrest Donald James

I have ordered four bricks through the Central High School (CHS) Alumni to represent my mother (Dorothy Donaldson, CHS '20; my sister, Dorothy Elizabeth James, CHS '44; my brother, David James, CHS '51; and myself, CHS '45. My maternal grandfather brought his family from Iowa to Oklahoma Territory in 1904 (3 years before statehood) and my paternal grandfather brought his family to western Oklahoma Territory also in 1904. Thus, both of my parents who were born in 1902 were Oklahomans before statehood and for the remainder of their lives. Our family certainly represents the pioneering spirit and love for Oklahoma.
