Dan S Hobbs

Submitted by Stephen Hobbs

The Hobbs side of Dan's family relocated to western Oklahoma (Rocky/Cordell) from Arkansas around 1910, after previous generations moved west from Warren County, Tennessee. Dan Hobbs' mother was a Stewart, whose family started in a dugout in Washita County in 1894 just before the opening of the Cheyenne and Arapaho lands. He was one of eight siblings, all of whom valued education. Government administrators, teachers, professors, ministers, and the like can be counted among their extended families.
