Oklahoma State CAR Society Organized 1938

The National Society of the Children of the American Revolution was formally organized on April 5, 1895, under the direction of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Harriett Mulford Lothrop, Concord, Massachusetts, was the Founder and First President 1895–1901. The Oklahoma Society Children of the American Revolution was organized March 26, 1938. The meeting was held at the state Historical Building in Oklahoma City. There were 83 delegates, members and visitors and a luncheon was held at the OKC Skirvin Hotel. The first local society to be organized in OK was the Priscilla Mullins Society of Tulsa on April 21, 1921, with 16 charter members.
