The Carney O. Dean Collection primarily consists of newsletters Dean wrote for two Oklahoma organizations: The Lincoln County Historical Society and the Deep Fork Watershed Association.
This collection includes a selection of Lincoln County Historical Society newsletters, written by Dean, from 1961 only.
This collection also includes a selection of newsletters from the Deep Fork (river) Watershed Association from the years 1962-1973. This newsletters were written for the association's members.
The Deep Fork Watershed Association promoted the natural function and conservation, as well as the practical and economically beneficial uses of the waters and lands within the Deep Fork River's watershed.
The collection also includes photocopies of news clippings, small scale maps, limited amounts of promotional materials, and letters having to do with issues concerning the Deep Fork River watershed and its impact on Lincoln County, Oklahoma.
