Program Descriptions

Historic Preservation Review Committee

Federal regulations require that the SHPO have a state review board to advise the State Historic Preservation Officer on nominations to the National Register of Historic Places and other preservation issues. In Oklahoma the state review board is known as the Oklahoma Historic Preservation Review Committee (HPRC). Agendas for HPRC quarterly meetings are posted in this section. The committee is composed of professionals in the fields of history, architecture, architectural history, prehistoric archaeology, and historic archeology appointed by the governor. The committee meets on the third Thursday of January, April, July, and October in the Dr. LeRoy H. Fischer Boardroom, Oklahoma History Center. The public is invited to attend.
