Welcome Home: Oklahomans and the War in Vietnam exhibit opens, Oklahoma History Center

November 6

On November 6, 2017, the Oklahoma History Center will open a new exhibit entitled Welcome Home: Oklahomans and the War in Vietnam. This exhibit will explore the impact of the war on Oklahoma families as told through the stories of the young men and women who served their country in the armed services, and the immigrant families who fled Vietnam and came to Oklahoma seeking freedom and opportunity.

By connecting the dots of history, the exhibit will provide a contemporary portrait of Oklahoma diversity set against the backdrop of historic events. Welcome Home: Oklahomans and the War in Vietnam will feature newly acquired Huey helicopter due to the generosity of an anonymous donor who is a Vietnam veteran, author, and native Oklahoman.
