The first priority of the Oklahoma Historical Society is the health and safety of our patrons, volunteers, and staff. We stand with our fellow Oklahomans in the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. We have closed our sites and affiliates to the public through April 30.
In an effort to minimize gatherings, all OHS-sponsored events are canceled or postponed through May 2, and some events have been canceled beyond that date. We are posting all changes on our events calendar to keep you updated as the situation develops.

Civil War Surgeon living history program
Listen to a firsthand account of a Union Civil War surgeon serving in Indian Territory at Honey Springs Battlefield on Saturday, February 29, starting at 1 p.m. Jason Harris, living history presenter and director of the Chisholm Trail Museum in Kingfisher, will provide a hands-on program about life in the field, Civil War medicine, treatment of soldiers, and care for refugees. On display will also be a number of medical instruments from the period. This will be a fun-filled educational day for students and adults alike!
