Preservation of Photographic Materials workshop, Oklahoma History Center

On Wednesday, May 9, from 10 am to 4 pm a workshop entitled Preservation of Photographic Materials will be held at the Oklahoma History Center. The instructor is Rebecca Elder of Rebecca Elder Cultural Heritage Preservation.

Photographs are some of the most common items found in archival and museum collections, but they are also some of the most complex. During this full-day workshop, we will explore identification of photographic processes, storage, handling, display, and emergency response. You will leave knowing more about the needs of your photographic collection and simple steps you can take to extend its life. Lunch is on your own.

This workshop is part of the “Images of Oklahoma” spring 2018 workshop series. Space is limited and the deadline to register is May 3. The cost is $40 per person.
