“The Gateway to Oklahoma History” Second Saturday Demo at Fort Towson Historic Site

FORT TOWSON, Okla. — On Saturday, November 14, from 1 to 3 p.m., Fort Towson Historic Site will host Chad Williams, the director of the Research Division for the Oklahoma Historical Society, who will present a program entitled “The Gateway to Oklahoma History” for the November installment of the Second Saturday Demo series.

The Gateway to Oklahoma History is a free, online repository of Oklahoma history that is continually being updated. Using The Gateway, patrons can search and view over three million historic Oklahoma newspapers, photographs, maps, books and documents. Williams will discuss various featured collections and how you can use them for research.

Fort Towson Historic Site is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.
