Chisholm Trail 150 Festival, Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center

The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center in Enid kicks off the 150th anniversary of the Chisholm Trail with a celebration on Saturday, April 1, from 11 am to 3 pm. The Chisholm Trail 150 Festival is a living history festival filled with music, cattle drive games, and reenactments. Attendees can enjoy beans and cornbread for lunch, prepared over an open fire. At 1 pm in the Village Church a reenactor portraying Joseph McCoy will try to persuade local ranchers to drive their cattle to Abilene, Kansas. Festival admission is $6 for adults, $3 for students, and free for children five and under. Please call 580-237-1907 for more information.
