Smith's First Directory of Oklahoma Territory For the Year Commencing August 1, 1890 lists individuals living in Oklahoma Territory. The first half of the book lists those residing in towns and the second half lists homesteaders. In 1890 Oklahoma Territory consisted of Logan, Oklahoma, Cleveland, Canadian, Kingfisher, Payne, and Beaver Counties. At that time Beaver County consisted of the entire Oklahoma Panhandle.

A name-finding list for mith's First Directory was created by Brian Basore of the OHS Research Division. This index lists the individual's name and page number. Names listed in all capital letters indicate residents of Purcell, Indian Territory.
