Event Navigation

Learn about 19th-century agriculture at Hunter’s Home on Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as the staff of the working farm prepares the home for summer and the upcoming growing season.

Adults and children can check out the gardens, fields, animals, and Murrell’s former residence on the sprawling 45-acre property as they learn about Cherokee farming traditions that change with the seasons. Caretakers will share traditions of keeping beehives, planting and tending gardens, and shearing sheep. Hunter’s Home is Oklahoma’s only remaining pre-Civil War plantation—a living history farm with a dedicated staff keeping agricultural traditions alive.

The event is free with regular admission fees. For more information, call 918-456-2751. Hunter’s Home is located at 19479 E. Murrell Home Rd. in Park Hill.
