We are currently closed to the public.

The first priority of the Oklahoma Historical Society is the health and safety of our patrons, volunteers, and staff. We stand with our fellow Oklahomans in the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. We have closed our sites and affiliates to the public through April 16.

In an effort to minimize gatherings, all OHS-sponsored events are canceled or postponed through May 2, and some events have been canceled beyond that date. We are posting all changes on our events calendar to keep you updated as the situation develops.

Thank you for your support and for being part of the OHS community.

“To Make a Mansion a Home: Weaving” living history program *Canceled*

April 17

Event Navigation

This event has been canceled.

Living history season is in full swing at Hunter’s Home! On Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, join Lisa Rutherford as she demonstrates weaving on a floor loom. Weaving was a skill in high demand in 19th-century homes, as this provided inhabitants with their linens, cloth to make clothing, and even their rugs and wall-to-wall carpeting! Demonstrations will run at intervals from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This program is free with paid admission.
