Music of the Dust Bowl
Annual Membership Appreciation Event The Oklahoma Historical Society, with the help of the Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) and Oklahoma City University, will present "Music of the Dust Bowl." Performers will include Monica Taylor, Dr. Harold Aldridge, and Shelby Eicher's band. The event is free for OHS members. Bob Wills Album Release Party
46 Star Records, the Oklahoma Historical Society, and the OKPOP announce the release of a new vinyl album: Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys - Let's Play, Boys! The album will be initially released on collector grade 180 gram vinyl and will be the first on the 46 Star Records label. Antique Agriculture Festival, Murrell Home
The George M. Murrell Home Historic Site, located just south of Tahlequah, will host first annual Antique Agriculture Festival October 7-9, 2016. The festival will focus on nineteenth-century agricultural practices and will feature activities for the whole family. The three-day event will include ongoing living history demonstrations, as well as entertainment, shopping, and food vendors. The April 24 Kilgen Organ dedication is sold out. The Oklahoma History Center will reintroduce the sound of the Kilgen Organ to Oklahoma City with a dedication performance on April 24, 2017.
