Visit the Oklahoma History Center
Due to Oklahoma National History Day competitions, gallery access will be very limited from 10 a.m. to noon on May 1 and 2.
At the Oklahoma History Center, visitors explore Smithsonian-quality exhibits that bring to life the voice and visions of Oklahoma, experience more than 50 topics and 2,000 artifacts reflecting Oklahoma’s inspiring and adventurous past, and explore research and interpretive programs of Oklahoma’s rich and diverse history.
Research Center Hours
Tuesday through Saturday
10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Closed Sunday, Monday, and all state holidays.
There is no charge to visit the Research Center.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

About the Oklahoma History Center
Located across from the Oklahoma State Capitol, the Oklahoma History Center is a beautifully designed exploration of Oklahoma—past to present. Within our 215,000-square-foot learning center are five galleries and a Research Center.
The outdoor Red River Journey offers visitors a walking tour of the Red River Valley featuring landforms, vegetation, and historical locations. Outdoor exhibits include an oilfield, 14 Flags Over Oklahoma, and Tip of the Spear, featuring a Huey helicopter.

Take I-44 West to I-35; head south on I-35. Take exit 130 for NE 23rd Street and proceed west past N Kelley Avenue. The entrance is on the right (north) side of NE 23rd Street.
From Norman
Take I-35 North to the I-40 & I-35 junction. Continue north on I-235 to the NE 23rd exit. Head east (right) on NE 23rd Street. Pass Lincoln Blvd; the entrance is left (north) of NE 23rd Street.
From Will Rogers World Airport
Take I-44 North to the I-40 junction. Head east on I-40 to I-235 junction. Go north on I-235 to NE 23rd Street exit. Head east (right) on NE 23rd St, pass Lincoln Blvd, and the entrance is left (north) of NE 23rd Street.
From Guthrie
Take I-35 South; exit on NE 23rd Street. Proceed west past N Kelley 1/4 mile. The entrance is right (north) of NE 23rd Street.
From El Reno
Take I-40 East to I-235 N. Take I-235 N to the NE 23rd Street exit. Head east (right) on NE 23rd Street, pass Lincoln Boulevard, and the entrance is left (north) of NE 23rd Street.
From Shawnee
Take I-40 West to I-35 North. Head north on I-35 to NE 23rd Street exit. Proceed west past N Kelley 1/4 mile; the entrance is right (north) of NE 23rd Street.
