Oklahoma National History Day is more than an academic exercise for thousands of Oklahoma junior high and high school students; it is a tradition. Inaugural Impressions: Oklahoma’s First Ladies Go to the Ball exhibit opens
On Friday, June 7, the Oklahoma History Center Museum will open a new exhibit in the Sam Noble Gallery entitled Inaugural Impressions: Oklahoma’s First Ladies Go to the Ball. This installation will feature the dresses Oklahoma’s first ladies wore to the state’s inaugurations. Unlike past exhibits focused on fashion, Inaugural Impressions will explore women’s roles, accomplishments, and contributions while their husbands served as governors. On Saturday, June 15, from 1 to 4 p.m., photographer and artist Jim Meeks will provide an introduction and historical overview of pinhole cameras. In the class, students will have the opportunity to make their own pinhole cameras. Introduction to Knitting: Make your own Mug Cozy workshop
On Saturday, November 16, the Oklahoma History Center will hold a knitting workshop. Participants will learn basic knitting skills and knit a custom mug cozy for themselves or as a gift for another.
