State Historic Preservation Office to Host Workshop on Researching Historic Properties

OKLAHOMA CITY — The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) will host a free webinar on Monday, May 8, at 1 p.m. to discuss how to research your historic property.

Historic properties come in all shapes, sizes, styles and types. This workshop will teach helpful strategies for researching a variety of property types. Attendees will learn about the common sources of information used for property research, including government records, architectural and construction drawings, newspapers, Sanborn Fire Insurance maps and aerial photographs.

The State Historic Preservation Office is a division of the Oklahoma Historical Society.
