Tulsa Foundation for Architecture Awarded $20,000 Through the Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Historical Society is pleased to announce that the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture has been awarded $20,000 through the Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program. This grant will support Phase 5 of an archival digitization effort to scan and provide online access to 10,000 items documenting Tulsa and Oklahoma’s architectural history.
“This generous support from the Oklahoma Historical Society allows Tulsa Foundation for Architecture to continue preserving and sharing Tulsa’s architectural legacy,” said Malinda Blank, executive director of the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture. “By digitizing our archival collection, we are not only safeguarding it for future generations but also expanding access so that more people can connect with the stories and places that shape our city. This work ensures that Tulsa’s built environment remains a living, accessible resource for our community and beyond.”
“The organizations receiving these grants are doing essential work to preserve Oklahoma’s history at the local level,” said Trait Thompson, executive director of the Oklahoma Historical Society. “Whether caring for collections, improving exhibits, or expanding educational programs, these projects help keep our shared history visible, accessible, and relevant across the state.”
The grant program supports tribal and municipal governments and not-for-profit historical organizations throughout the state. Awards range from $1,000 to $25,000 for projects that improve collections stewardship, develop exhibits, expand public programs, and strengthen organizational capacity.
