Oklahoma Historical Society Adds Additional Screenings for New Route 66 Documentary

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Historical Society has multiple free screenings planned across the state for its new documentary “Crossroads of America: Oklahoma’s Route 66.” A trailer for the documentary is now available on the Oklahoma Historical Society’s YouTube channel. Additional screenings are being planned, and details will be announced at a later date.

The Oklahoma Historical Society, in collaboration with director Bryan Beasley, producers Jon and Jaime Roman, and with support from the Inasmuch Foundation, has produced “Crossroads of America: Oklahoma’s Route 66.” This documentary examines the evolution of Route 66 in Oklahoma, from the hardships of the Dust Bowl era to post-WWII road trips. It explores the highway’s history and future through interviews with historians, interactions with small-business owners and scenes created using virtual production technology filmed at the Cherokee Film Studios.

All screenings are free. Those interested in attending the events in Sapulpa or Edmond should reserve tickets in advance to secure a spot. All other screenings do not require a reservation. As additional screenings are added, the details will be posted on crossroadsok66.com.
