May 2, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Event Navigation
On Saturday, May 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jake Tiger, a member of the Seminole Nation’s Thomas Palmer band (formerly the Paskofv band), will visit Fort Gibson Historic Site to tell the story of the 1843 Seminole removal.
On April 26, 1843, a group of Seminoles led by Chief Paskofv arrived in Indian Territory. The removal story was written down by Colonel Ethan Allen Hitchcock in his journal, Fifty Years in Camp and Field. On May 2, 2026, nearly 200 years later, Jake Tiger will share the story of the 1843 removal.
This program is included with admission. Please check in at the Palisade admissions office located across the parade square from the parking lot entrance for directions to the program location.
