“Perspectives in History”: The 2023 Oklahoma History Symposium

On Saturday, April 22. 2023, the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) will host “Perspectives in History”: The 2023 Oklahoma History Symposium. This one-day event will take place at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. The deadline to submit proposals is November 30, 2022.

“Perspectives in History” will offer scholars, historians, authors, students, and museum professionals from across the state and country a forum in which to share their work with history enthusiasts. Proposals will be considered on a wide range of topics pertaining to Oklahoma history and culture. Possible broad topics include African American history, archaeology, Civil Rights, ethnicity, immigration, folklife, genealogy, Native American history, the territorial era, and women’s history. Session formats could include traditional presentations, research sessions, discussion sessions, or discussion panels. There also will be a museum and archival track for professional development, where topics will include collections management, outreach program development and social, cultural and political impact of archives and exhibits.
