Question-and-Answer event with Rebecka Peterson, 2023 National Teacher of the Year *event is full*

Rebecka Peterson, the 2023 National Teacher of the Year, will participate in a live question and answer event at the Oklahoma History Center (OHC) on Friday, August 25, starting at 2 p.m. The program will take place in the Musser Learning Lab inside the John and Eleanor Kirkpatrick Research Center on the first floor of the OHC. Space is limited to the first 25 educators, so be sure to register by clicking here. The registration form also includes a spot to submit audience questions before the live Q and A.

Peterson was also named 2022 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year. She taught high school math classes for 11 years at Union High Tulsa in Tulsa. She is spending a year touring the country to promote teaching and education. Peterson is a proud immigrant of Swedish-Iranian descent. She lived in several countries with her parents, who were medical missionaries. In her National Teacher of the Year application, Peterson said she speaks freely of her past with her students, including struggles and joys. She likes to talk with her students one-on-one to learn their stories.
