Monogrammed Brick Stories

Brick: Bryant, Keith, Elsie

Contributed by Judy Burns

Keith and Elsie Bryant met and married in Oklahoma City. They both loved to travel and passed that enthusiasm on to their son and daughter. There were many vacations and few museums were missed. Keith was a model railroad fan and enjoyed exploring old railroad lines on vacations. Elsie was a collector of antiques, particularly glass and china. Their son, Keith Lynn Bryant, Jr., went on to become a history professor who taught and filled administrative positions at three universities. Their daughter, Judy Bryant Burns, graduated from OU, majoring in geography and minoring in history. She currently researches the family history. Keith and Elsie were truly historians each in their own way and passed that heritage on to their children.

In 2012 the Oklahoma Historical Society invited those who purchased one of the monogrammed bricks paving the Red River Journey at the Oklahoma History Center to share about the person or group their brick honors. Below is a list of those who submitted stories and the message shown on their brick. Use the links below to read the contributed story.
