Monogrammed Brick Stories
Brick: OHCE Bits & Bytes Computer Group
Contributed by William Cress
Seventy-five years ago the predecessor organization to what is now Oklahoma Home and Community Education was formed as Future Home Makers under the auspices of the state land grant college (now OSU Extension). The basic mission of the organization continues to be education and community service. In the early years the organization provided education concerning home making subjects - food preservation, food preparation, family and home care, etc. Over the years the program has changed to subjects of interest to men and women with home and community responsibilities. Brick 127 was given in recognition of the establishment of the OHCE Bits & Bytes group which was formed January 1, 2000 to conduct classes in asic computer use.

In 2012 the Oklahoma Historical Society invited those who purchased one of the monogrammed bricks paving the Red River Journey at the Oklahoma History Center to share about the person or group their brick honors. Below is a list of those who submitted stories and the message shown on their brick. Use the links below to read the contributed story.
This project was made possible by a generous donation from Catherine B. Wootten.
