The Night Before Christmas LIVE!

December 12, 2025

Event Navigation

In 1823, an account of “A Visit from St. Nicholas” was published in the Troy Sentinel newspaper in New York. Today, we know this poem as The Night Before Christmas, by Clement Moore. While we all know the poem, this is an opportunity to experience a live performance of the material as you tour the historic Hunter’s Home, while guides bring the beloved poem to life!

On Friday, December 12, from 6 to 9 p.m., Hunter’s Home will host a live performance of the 1823 poem The Night Before Christmas by Clement Moore. Guests will tour the only remaining pre-Civil War plantation home in Oklahoma by candlelight, watching the poem come to life. The Night Before Christmas describes a Christmas Eve night when a father wakes up after hearing noises outside. He sees eight reindeer pulling Santa Claus in a sleigh, which lands on the roof of the home. Santa slides down the chimney, leaves gifts in the stockings, then calls out “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night” as he flies away.

The event is $20 for adults and $10 for kids. Registration is required as space is limited. Call 918-456-2751 to reserve your spot. Since the home will be dimly lit by candles during the event, individuals with visual impairments may experience difficulty navigating. Flashlights, including those on a phone, are not allowed.
