Fort Gibson Candlelight Tour
The Fort Gibson Historic Site will once again host its annual candlelight tour on Saturday, December 12. This educational fundraiser supports the site’s living history programming. The event offers visitors an opportunity to experience the site illuminated by moonlight and lanterns, replicating its 19th-century appearance. During the tours, guests are guided through scenes depicting 19th-century life within the palisade and surrounding grounds, using lantern light to navigate. On Saturday, December 19, the Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center will host two guided tours in celebration of the winter solstice. Anna Vincent, the current director of the Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center, will lead the tours.
