Vendor Submission Guidelines

All proposed items must include:

  1. Product name and full description
  2. Wholesale and suggested retail price
  3. Minimum order quantity
  4. Vendor contact info (vendor ID for OMES)
  5. High-quality product photos

Product guidelines:

  1. Must be registered with the State/OMES as a State of Oklahoma supplier
  2. Oklahoma focused: items must be made in Oklahoma or have a clear connection to Oklahoma culture, history, or geography
  3. Historical or educational relevance: products should reflect aspects of Oklahoma’s story such as Native heritage, Route 66, Dust Bowl, oil history, State symbols, famous figures, etc.
  4. Eye-catching and engaging: products should be visually appealing and spark interest for all ages. Interactive, artistic, or conversation-starting items are preferred.
  5. High quality: items must be well-made, with no defects, poor packaging, or signs of wear. Museum guests should leave with durable, display-worthy goods
  6. Wholesale only: we do not accept consignment of any kind. All items must be available for wholesale purchase with clear minimums and pricing.

When shipping items:

  1. Items should arrive shelf-ready, clean, well packaged, and as a complete order. We will not accept partial orders.
  2. Compact, stackable, or peg-ready packaging is ideal
  3. Please include any signage, info cards, or any other promotional or educational marketing materials for your products



Book Submission Guidelines

General requirements to be considered in our store:

  • Have a clear Oklahoma connection (subject matter, author, and setting must be tied to Oklahoma)
  • Be educational or historically relevant (especially related to Oklahoma’s past, people, land, or communities)
  • Be visually appealing and retail-ready (professional cover design, professional formatting, and appealing to the general audience)
  • Be available for wholesale purchase – we do not accept consignment. All books must be available to us at a wholesale discount
  • Be physically stocked and ready to ship – we cannot accommodate print-on-demand

Content we are looking for:

  • Adult books: nonfiction only (biographies, memoirs, cookbooks)
  • Books featuring regional history, unique or untold stories, or local authors
  • Children’s books: non-fiction and fiction, educational titles with local themes, state animals, notable legends, prominent figures, etc. (we are much more open with our children’s and YA books)

Books we do not accept:

  • Self-published books
  • Books without professional editing or design
  • Books with no clear Oklahoma or regional connection
  • Consignment-only or unavailable for wholesale
  • Print-on-demand only availability

Submission checklist:

  • Title, author, and short description
  • Book category (history, children’s, biography, etc.)
  • ISBN, page count, and retail price
  • Wholesale terms (price, minimum order, shipping time/options)
  • A physical copy or physical sampling of the reading
  • Brief author bio and Oklahoma connection, or why this connects with the Oklahoma History Center Museum and its exhibits

What happens next?
