Battle of Honey Springs Reenactment

Sutler Applications

Sutler applications have closed. Thank you for your interest.

Our next reenactment will be held in 2027.

The Oklahoma Historical Society Honey Springs Battlefield and the Friends of Honey Springs Battlefield are grateful for the generous support from the sutler and vendor community. We hope that you have a great time during our event. We appreciate the work and dedication that goes into making this event a meaningful and memorable experience for all.

Due to limited space, all applications will be reviewed prior to approval. Once you have been selected, you will receive an email with payment instructions and details. The fee is $300 and payment must be received prior to the event. Make checks payable to the Friends of Honey Springs Battlefield, Inc.

Sutlers should be selling period items relating to the Civil War era.

In order for both the Honey Springs Battlefield and vendors to meet or exceed all state and county health requirements, as well as be tax compliant, we are required to follow the Oklahoma Tax Commission rules and regulations for special events.

This includes:

  • Keep a list of all vendors that attend the event
  • Distribute a sales tax report to all vendors
  • Notify every vendor at the event of the local sales tax rate
  • At the end of the event, collect the completed vendor sales tax report and payment from each vendor who does not have a valid Oklahoma sales tax permit
  • Mail to the Oklahoma Tax Commission a list of all vendors who do NOT have a valid sales tax permit
  • Mail to the Oklahoma Tax Commission a list of all vendors who DO have a valid sales tax permit

Weekend Events

There will be numerous sutlers showcasing and selling various clothing, goods, and provisions. Visitors can enjoy presentations about Civil War-era topics, and the reenactment begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Vendor/Sutler Check-In, Parking, and Accommodations

Check In

We encourage all sutlers and vendors to check in at the registration station as early as possible.

General Rules and Etiquette

Please be courteous to all visitors, artifacts, and wildlife by keeping noise levels appropriate. This historic site is owned by the State of Oklahoma and so tobacco use is prohibited. Open fires are not permitted in the vendor/sutler area.

Overnight Accommodations

There will be a designated area for vendors/sutlers to park vehicles, RVs, and campers.

Parking Lot Considerations

Please make sure vehicles are secure and property is concealed or otherwise protected.

Portable Sanitation Units

There will be chemical-based sanitation units throughout the event area for visitor use.

Ground Conditions

Visitors should have sturdy footwear and be prepared for obstacles including uneven terrain and gravel. Be alert for wet or soggy areas and take your time to avoid tripping; variable terrains make running unsafe.

Weather Considerations

Since much of the reenactment event is outdoors, visitors should dress appropriately for any inclement weather.

Map to Site
