“Historic Skills Expo” Second Saturday Demo

Fort Towson Historic Site will host “Historic Skills Expo” Second Saturday Demo on Saturday, September 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. Guests are welcome to watch and learn as craftsmen and artisans demonstrate how objects were made before industrialization. Historical interpreters will be demonstrating the art of candle making, wooden bucket making, the operation of a wooden lathe, the preparation of black powder, and a cooking demonstration. Living history reenactors will be on hand to explain a variety of time-honored crafts, and the Sutler’s Store will be open for touring.
