Historical Travel Bag Workshop
March 5, 2022, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
On Sunday, March 5, 2022 the Chisholm Trail Museum will host a Historical Travel Bag Workshop. Participants will create a 19th-century travel bag under the guidance of Marna Davis, the “Domestic Lady’s Dressmaker.” The bag is fashioned after measurements from a period original. The travel bag that will be recreated is found repeatedly in period fashion magazines and Butterick catalogs from the 1870s through the 1890s. The cost for the class is $75, with materials and lunch provided. Please plan to bring your own sewing machine if possible. Let us know when you are registering for the workshop if you will be unable to bring a machine.
