Some Oklahoma birth and death information is available online through Ok2Explore , a free searchable index from the Oklahoma State Vital Records Division. The index includes births that occurred more than 20 years ago and deaths that occurred more than five years ago.

Keeping your notes organized is key.If you plan to visit the Research Center, it is helpful to bring a pedigree chart with you. When completing a pedigree chart, begin with yourself and work backward.
Subscription Websites Available in the Research Center
The Research Center offers free access to Ancestry Library Edition®, Fold3, HeritageQuest Online™, and Newspapers.com.
Ancestry Institution® offers US Census, ship logs and passenger indexes, World War I draft registration cards, vital records, American Indian records, and the Social Security Death Index.
Fold3 includes military records, documents, and photographs dating from the Revolutionary War to recent conflicts. Fold3 also offers online access to and various American Indian records.
HeritageQuest™ also includes US Census as well as Revolutionary War pension and bounty-land warrant applications, the Freedman’s Bank (1856–1874), and more.
Newspapers.com is the largest online newspaper archive.
